Either through templates or memories. Memories apply globally - this would be a good thing to put in your preferences/memories to auto-apply globally regardless of template chosen

In my templates, I have a line that instructs the system to use as much medical shorthand / abbreviations as possible. I also include examples of changes I want it to make, such as "URTI" instead of "upper respiratory tract Infection", "MDD" instead of "major depressive disorder", "ADHD" instead of "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder", "GAD" instead of generalized anxiety disorder, "D/C" instead of "discontinue", "d/t" instead of "due to", etc. I find that the most helpful thing is to put examples like the ones above into the template instructions so it knows what to look for :) hope this helps!
